Split trip costs. Check real mileage.
Share travel expenses fairly and find out what your car actually uses. No account or Maps connection needed.
Changing country resets unsaved inputs. Saved refill records stay separate for each country.
Which travel tool should you use?
Trip Cost Splitter is for sharing one journey's fuel, tolls, parking and other agreed expenses between travellers. For example, if a journey costs $120 and four people, including the driver, pay equally, each share is $30. If the driver is excluded, three passengers pay $40 each. Enter the total trip expense once, including the return journey if relevant.
Real Mileage Checker answers a different question: how efficiently your vehicle actually uses fuel. A 300-mile drive using 10 US gallons gives 30 US mpg; a 300-km drive using 20 litres gives 15 km/L. Use full-to-full refills rather than a single partial fill. The country selector adjusts units, and the recorded vehicle nickname helps keep measurements separate.
For trip planning before you travel, try the Drive Cost Calculator. For comparing two vehicles' energy spending over the same journey, use Compare My Cars. These tools answer different questions and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Trip Cost Splitter
Enter expenses for the whole trip, including the return journey if applicable. “Travellers” includes the driver.
This calculates equal shares, not who owes whom after advance payments. Rounding is allocated so all shares add up to the total.
Real Mileage Checker
Use the full-tank method: fill the tank and reset your trip meter. At your next full refill, enter the distance driven since the previous full tank and the fuel added. Include any intervening partial refills in the total fuel and spending. A single partial refill cannot measure reliable mileage.

Records stay in this browser on this device; MyDriveCost does not upload these entries. Clearing browser data removes them. Use a nickname rather than a registration number. Keep separate nicknames for different vehicles.

Mileage varies with traffic, load, weather and driving style. This tool measures liquid-fuel use only; it does not calculate EV efficiency or total plug-in hybrid energy costs.
Choose the right travel calculation
Sharing a trip: if the car's fuel costs $24, tolls $9 and parking $4.50, then the shared bill is $37.50. With three paying travellers, each share is $12.50. If a fourth person drove but is not contributing, set the total travellers to four and select “Passengers pay; driver excluded”; the same three people each pay $12.50. This is an illustrative USD case: switch the country above before entering figures in CAD, GBP or PKR.
Checking your mileage: the history tool needs two comparable full-tank readings, not a tank-size estimate. For a Canadian example, 480 km divided by 40 litres and expressed as L/100 km gives 8.33 L/100 km. In the UK, recorded distance is in miles and fuel added is in litres; the displayed result is Imperial mpg. In the USA use miles and US gallons, while Pakistan uses km and litres for km/L. Cost per distance is based on the amount you say was spent.
Privacy and practical limits: refill history is stored only in this browser and is separated by country. It may disappear if browser data is cleared, so keep your original receipts. The splitter does not create payment requests or reconcile which friend already paid, and the mileage checker is not a diagnostic assessment of vehicle condition.
