Fuel Average Calculator Pakistan
Estimate how many litres your driving needs and what that means for your monthly budget. Fuel average is one of the biggest variables in real running cost.
Measure average before budgetingConvert your refill records into a fuel average
All defaults are worked-example inputs, not live prices or verified vehicle quotations. Replace them with your own measurements and rates. Calculations run in your browser; no account is needed.
Turn measured fuel average into a monthly budget
The calculator above measures km/L from a completed refill interval. Use that result in the budgeting steps below. If you need help recording refills, use the car mileage measurement guide.
1. Count the kilometres you will actually drive
A 20 km one-way commute is 40 km per return day. At 22 office days, that is 880 km. Add 120 km for personal errands and the monthly plan becomes 1,000 km. Do not double a distance that already includes the return trip, and exclude holidays or work-from-home days.
2. Compare mileage scenarios at the same price
The table uses 1,000 km and an illustrative PKR 300 per litre, not today's pump price or a rating for any specific car.
| Measured average | Litres needed | Fuel budget |
|---|---|---|
| 10 km/L | 100.00 L | PKR 30,000 |
| 12 km/L | 83.33 L | PKR 25,000 |
| 15 km/L | 66.67 L | PKR 20,000 |
Calculate with unrounded litres: monthly kilometres divided by km/L, multiplied by PKR/L. Moving from 10 to 15 km/L reduces fuel use by one-third at the same distance, not by 50%. This comparison does not establish whether buying another car is worthwhile.
3. Separate price changes from consumption changes
At 1,000 km and 12 km/L, a PKR 10/L price rise adds about PKR 833.33. At a fixed PKR 300/L, mileage falling from 15 to 12 km/L adds PKR 5,000. Keep these factors separate when explaining why a monthly bill changed.
4. Reconcile the budget with your records
Compare planned distance, measured average and assumed price with the actual month. Fuel purchased is a cash expense; it need not equal fuel consumed if the tank starts and ends at different levels. Use complete refill cycles for consumption and keep receipts for cash spending. For changing prices, retain each purchase's litres and amount.
Choose a realistic allowance
If comparable records range from 12 to 15 km/L, budget both scenarios instead of using your best single trip. This is a planning range, not a confidence interval or guaranteed minimum. Review it when your route, load or attendance changes.
Use the fuel allowance calculator for work travel, or the operating-cost budget to include maintenance, insurance and parking. Employer reimbursement depends on company policy; a fuel estimate is not an entitlement.
