Honda Civic fuel cost in Canada

The Civic rows include sedan, hatchback, hybrid and performance-labelled versions. Compare a hybrid with a gasoline version at the same distance and pump price. The fuel saving is only one part of a purchase decision: divide any extra purchase cost by realistic annual fuel savings before treating the hybrid as a financial saving.

Calculate your own journey

These defaults are illustrative prices, not current fuel prices. Select a source variant, then adjust the efficiency to your measured result.

Example: 100 km at 7 L/100 km and CAD 1.60 per litre costs CAD 11.20.

A worked 100-km example

Using the first listed reference of 7 L/100 km, the arithmetic is 100 × 7 ÷ 100 × 1.60 = CAD 11.20. That is CAD 0.112 per km.

For a 40-km daily return commute over 22 attendance days, total distance is 880 km. Under the same assumptions, fuel costs CAD 98.56. Add parking and tolls separately. If the price rises 10% with distance and consumption unchanged, fuel spending also rises 10%.

Reference variants

NRCan consumption is in litres per 100 kilometres: a smaller number means less fuel used. Select the correct body style and hybrid or gasoline version before comparing costs. Source: Natural Resources Canada.

Use your own refill result

Fill to the same automatic pump cutoff, record the odometer, then record distance and all fuel added until the next full tank. Include partial refills between full tanks. Use multiple cycles to reduce the influence of a single fill. A short journey or a partial tank alone is not a reliable measurement.

Use the pump price in Canadian dollars per litre. If a sign shows cents per litre, divide by 100 first: 160 cents means CAD 1.60/L. Winter conditions and short trips can change your actual consumption, so compare the reference with several full-tank refills.
